Writing Beyond my own Interests.

My thoughts about the future of the book, are best described, ironically enough, in a book, a book I wrote; a work in progress, an experiment into holographic prose.
But I can place a bet that nobody has even read this book yet, as I just published the 41st edition over at Lulu.com/flyagaric23, yesterday, and will be ordering a copy to proof read, and move on to the next edition.(14/5/10).
Although many may disagree with my content, I think that my method of revising, updating, adding and taking away, condesing the text based upon new observations and new data is a step in the direction of where 'the book' is headed.
A part of me wants to declare that this book (IS) the future the book, my ego scriptor and inner constellation of protagonists want me to shout Look, look at my book, oh please read it, its very good you know.
Yet, the name of the game here is 'share this course' and the buzz terms like collaboration, sharing and co-creating are not 'lock yourself away and write a book', which to me, truly is the way to write a book, in the conventional sense. Isolation and all, floatation tank and Sativa stash if possible...
So I figure that the future of the book, and the future of writing and reading 'books' may depend somewhat upon the question of 'getting over one's own interests' and somehow opening up fully and embracing the mystique of the 2010 Global Village, and the new means for sharing new kinds of collective, collaborative information.
It seems to me that Government generally, clogs up and slows down the inevitable coming together of the tribes by shared experience.
